It is well known that MyOutcomes & PCOMS (Partners for Change Outcomes Management Systems) are included in the SAMHSA’s (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) Registry of Evidence Based Programs and Practices.
Three randomized clinical trials (RCTs) conducted by Partners of the Heart and Soul of Change Project enabled MyOutcomes & PCOMS to be recognised as providing and achieving evidence based practice status.
MyOutcomes & PCOMS are not specific treatment models for a particular client diagnosis. They are a-theoretical and therefore may be added to or integrated with any model of practice; and apply to all diagnostic categories.
Gold Standard Outcome Tracking and Reporting Systems
In effect, one size does fit all. Using these feedback-informed methods in my practice allows me to be evidence based across all my clients. And, more important, PCOMS is evidence based at the individual client-therapist level. Collecting client feedback monitors whether this therapeutic approach provided by this therapist is benefiting this client.
These outcome tracking systems provide a seemingly contradictory way to become evidence based across all my clients. They help me tailor my services to your individual needs, preferences, and culture. This is truly evidence based practice one client at a time.
